Sarah

Hi. I'm Sarah. Welcome to Glitterverve.

I actually started a family blog in 2009 and wrote faithfully for 5 years but two kids + dog + full-time job + life happened and I let it run its course. I’m back and taking a leap now into writing about what makes my spirit sparkle. While I may at times suffer from a dose of imposter syndrome - my goal isn’t revolutionary - it’s more about shining a light on what I already know and exploring more of what I love - and what I think you may love too. A lot of life is what we focus on and I want this blog to embody the spirit, positive energy and joy of a wise (aka 40-something), working mama…

A little bit about me…

I grew up in Minnesota but spent a few early adult years living in Arizona – which for a MN girl feels like a spring break paradise. I met my husband the same way my mom met my dad – in a bar. I was his waitress on a night he and his buddies came in for a beer after finals. Fast-forward a few years and I brought this born-in Alaska-raised-in Arizona boy back to Minnesota to start a family. We have two beautiful children – 10 and 8. In this season of my life, it’s all about balance (or juggling or trying to juggle). I own my own consulting business, am the lead activity/volunteer/social coordinator in our household and faithfully get in three workouts per week.

I love dance parties in the kitchen, am always planning our next vacation adventure, am a fearless cook – both a sweets baker and health food dinner maker. I’m an extroverted introvert and always feel the exhaustion after social gatherings yet fear of missing out that comes along with that.   Basically, I’m trying to live my best life while meeting the demands of a full-time job and full-time motherhood. You can relate, right?

I’ll always pick…

Amazing food at a hidden gem over a fancy restaurant with uninspired food

A cheese plate and glass of dry sparkling rose on the deck with the twinkle lights on over a movie

Water over desert (I’m a Picses)

Book over movie

Chocolate over most any dessert

I have this philosophy about open doors. Basically it means having an open mind and heart to all the possibilities. I consider this blog an iterative creative outlet and am taking this journey one day at a time. Thank you for joining me. Cheers!
